Inspired by South Bend, musician David Jameson penned a new song that will raise funds for a good cause. During the coronavirus pandemic, David moved back to his hometown from Texas to spend time with family and friends. While revisiting many of the parks and familiar places form his past, he wrote his new song “South Bend Town.”

“The lyrics touch on a lot of the historic points of interest in town including the new Studebaker Fountain, the newly developed Howard Park, one of the first zoos in Indiana, the first man-made rafting course in the country, and many other sites,” David explains. “The song also mentiones Notre Dame football and contains a snippet of the Notre Dame Fight Song melody.”

David is working alongside the City of South Bend Venues Parks & Arts to raise money for … the community; all royalties from streams and downloads will be donated back to the city’s foundation… He also hopes the song will connect with listeners to foster civic pride and a sense of community during this unprecendented time…
